What is a sizzle reel?
You can tell a lot about a person by the way they shake your hand. The purpose of a Sizzle Reel is to serve as the ideal first-touch or “handshake” with someone who is unfamiliar with your brand. They should be able to get a solid understanding of the type of business you are after this quick, 60 to 90-second video.
Afterward, the audience should know what your business does, how it operates, and why. Sizzle reels are typically voiceover-driven, composed of associated live-action b-roll, supplemented with appropriate and catchy music, and opens and closes with a dank logo animation – much like a sports highlight reel. These are also usually paired with an additional 30-second re-edit that’s perfect for social media distribution campaigns.
